YOUTH PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

At the Vision Resource Center we make it our priority to provide services and programs that enrich the lives of our members, or as we like to call them, our “Family Members”. Below are just a few of the services provided to the blind and visually impaired youth in our community.
- Transportation Services
- Summer Camp (2 weeks)
- Cultural Events, concerts, plays, musicals, parks, zoo, seminars, shopping, museums, holiday and birthday celebrations
- Cooking Classes
- Independent Living Workshops
- Self Defense Class
- Pottery and Art classes
- Bowling
- Outdoor activities to include: Surfing, Rock Climbing, Horse Back Riding, Obstacle Courses, Canoeing, Swimming
- Support Group Meetings with Guest Speakers
- Referral Services
LIMITLESS GROUP
In May 2018, the Vision Resource Center started our “Limitless” young adult group (ages 19 to 29). This group meets once a quarter to prepare our young adults for college and job careers. This group also attends cooking classes, educational seminars, team work exercises and emphasizes socialization skills as well as mentors our younger youth group members ages (6 to 18).
